For everyone

Symbols and colours

The same in the iOS app and on the web. Colour is never the only clue: every symbol also has a word, and a screen reader reads it out.

Balance

Lesson credits paid for, minus lessons attended. Absences use no credit.

  • Credit +2CreditMore lessons paid for than attended.
  • No balance 0No balancePaid up exactly. The next lesson isn’t paid for yet.
  • Debt −1DebtMore lessons attended than paid for.

Payment on a lesson

Payments cover attended lessons first, then the lessons to come, in date order. A square shows only when something needs doing.

  • Not paid yetA lesson to come that no payment covers yet.
  • OwedAttended, and no payment covers it. Record a payment to cover it.
  • PaidA payment covers it. In words on the lesson, and as a square in the web app’s key.

Attendance and lessons

On the calendar, on a lesson’s page, and in the ledger.

  • AttendedMarked attended. Uses one lesson credit.
  • AbsentMarked absent. No charge: the ledger says “Absent, no charge”.
  • RepeatsPart of a weekly or fortnightly series.
  • ClashClashTwo lessons overlap. Both stay, so you can move one. A red dot on the iOS month.
  • NowWhere the time is now, on today’s column.
